Deshalb wird er im staatlichen Hospital <a href=\"\/esp\/chemotherapie-fuer-einen-monat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Baca Ortiz in Quito<\/a> behandelt. Aber Pablo lebt mit seiner Familie in der K\u00fcstenprovinz Esmeraldas, viele Busstunden von der Hauptstadt entfernt. Und das Medikament Vinblastin, das er f\u00fcr die Chemotherapie ben\u00f6tigt, ist zurzeit fast nirgendwo in Ecuador erh\u00e4ltlich. Mit viel Recherche fand eine unserer Damas eine M\u00f6glichkeit, Vinblastin am Krebskrankenhaus in Ambato, zweieinhalb Stunden s\u00fcdlich von Quito, zu bekommen. Also f\u00e4hrt Mireya, die Mutter des kranken Jungen, regelm\u00e4\u00dfig acht Stunden im Bus von Esmeraldas nach Ambato und kauft vier Dosen des Medikaments, denn mehr gibt die Krankenhausapotheke nicht auf einmal ab. Dann kehrt sie zur\u00fcck nach Esmeraldas. Gemeinsam mit dem kranken Pablo tritt sie anschlie\u00dfend die ebenso lange Busfahrt nach Quito an, damit der Junge im Kinderkrankenhaus seine Injektionen erhalten kann. Mit der leeren K\u00fchltasche fahren die beiden wieder nach Hause; vierzehn Tage sp\u00e4ter wiederholt sich dieses Prozedere.
